This notice explains how SplitSmart handles personal information when you use splitsmart.co.uk. It is written for the current pilot-stage service.

1. Who is responsible

SplitSmart is responsible for personal information collected through this website. Before launch, replace this paragraph with the legal name and contact address of the operating person or company, and add a monitored privacy email address.

Launch blocker: do not publish this policy without completing the controller identity and contact details above.

2. The readiness score

Your answers to the Divorce Readiness Score are processed in your browser. The current version does not transmit those answers to SplitSmart, create an account or save the result on our servers.

3. Pilot interest form

If you join the founding pilot list, we collect your first name, email address, broad stage in the process and consent. We use this information to respond and communicate about the pilot. Our lawful basis is your consent. You may withdraw it at any time.

Please do not use the form to send financial documents, account details, information about children, allegations, health information or personal information about another person.

4. Paid-pilot intake and report preparation

After a customer orders a pilot report, the intake form collects their name, checkout email, order reference, broad process stage, structured preparation-status answers, selected report goals and required acknowledgements. We use this information to match the order, check suitability, prepare and deliver the report and deal with service enquiries. The intended lawful basis is performance of the service contract or steps requested before performing it.

The intake is deliberately designed not to request document uploads, exact balances, account credentials, allegations, health information, children’s names or another person’s confidential information. Customers must not include those details.

5. Hosting and form processing

The website is hosted using Netlify. Form submissions are processed and stored through Netlify Forms and may generate email notifications to SplitSmart. Before launch, configure account security, retention and access permissions and add the appropriate supplier information and international-transfer wording for the exact Netlify plan and settings in use.

6. Cookies and analytics

The supplied launch version does not install advertising or behavioural analytics scripts. The hosting provider may process technical request data necessary to provide and secure the service. If analytics, advertising pixels or additional cookies are added later, this notice and any consent mechanism must be updated first.

7. How long we keep information

The proposed pilot schedule is: pilot-interest records until consent is withdrawn or six months after the pilot closes; raw paid-intake responses and working report files for 90 days after report delivery; and the final report and essential service correspondence for 12 months after delivery. Payment and accounting records may be kept longer where required for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention or legal purposes. Confirm these periods operationally before accepting paid customers.

8. Who receives information

Information may be processed by service providers needed to host the website, process the form and deliver email. We do not sell personal information. We do not share pilot enquiries with solicitors, mediators or other professionals unless we first explain the arrangement and have an appropriate lawful basis.

9. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your information, restrict or object to processing, and receive certain information in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. See ICO complaint guidance.

10. Security

No online service can promise absolute security. We use proportionate safeguards and minimise the information requested. The current launch version does not offer document upload or a stored case file.

11. Changes

We will update this notice when the product, suppliers or legal basis changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
